NRB Group, a leader in ICT in Belgium, deployed its teams and its technological solutions to ensure the voting went smoothly during the local and provincial elections. Thanks to the unprecedented mobilization of 250 employees and the support of its subsidiaries, the Group played a key role in the smooth organization of the counting operations, the compilation of the results, the management of the electoral lists and the declaration of candidates’ expenses. This reaffirms NRB’s crucial role in Belgians’ daily lives and its commitment to democracy.
This weekend, the citizens of the Walloon, Flemish and Brussels-Capital Regions voted in local and provincial elections, a crucial event for our democracy. Behind the smooth and efficient management of these elections was the NRB Group. NRB mobilized 250 employees and several of its subsidiaries, including Civadis and Cevi, to guarantee a reliable and secure electoral process.
The Group deployed cutting-edge solutions to meet the requirements of the various aspects of the elections both before and during voting. A number of software applications developed and operated by NRB were deployed:
- PATSY was used in 2,500 polling stations in the Walloon Region to ensure the count.
- MARTINE was used to compile the results in 1,053 polling stations.
- ADELE ensured the management of the electoral lists in 737 polling stations in the Brussels Capital Region.
- ROMEO handled the process of declaring the electoral expenses of 75 % of the candidates and parties.
Particular attention was paid to the security of the operations. A dedicated team of cybersecurity specialists from NRB ensured continuous monitoring of the operations and was ready to intervene in the event of a cyberattack.
