NRB and Getronics have been granted a 4-year Workspace Service contract with two one-year extensions by Sibelga which is redesigning its IT architecture to convert to a partially outsourced silo model. This new rationalisation strategy is also aimed at updating the work environment concept with a focus on mobility to enhance ergonomics and increase user comfort.
The consortium between Getronics, one of the world's leading IT service providers, and NRB, Belgium’s number-one service provider for outsourcing and IT solutions, has won a contract with Sibelga, the distribution network operator for electricity and natural gas in the 19 municipalities of the Brussels Capital Region. The latter has made the strategic choice to outsource certain components of its IT system in information silos, opting for a full-service model based on key performance indicators and stringent evaluation criteria.
The two IT partner companies will be responsible for the entire transition of the IT systems, the implementation of Windows 10 and the management of the new workspaces. Thanks to a structured and proactive architecture, all collaborators will benefit from a better experience and greater comfort when using the available tools, with particular attention being paid to the mobility of staff and their applications.
“Throughout the selection process, the consortium has adopted a consistent and structured approach, and together with their price policy this has tipped the balance in their favour,” says Jean-Louis Mapessa, Head of IT Production at Sibelga. “Their solution lives up to our expectations in terms of reliability, agility and ergonomics; at the same time, the comfort of the tools used needs to be brought in line with users’ new work habits, the rapid development of the business sector and the constant need for optimal customer service.”
“Together with NRB, we are very proud to work with a market player such as Sibelga in the reorganisation of its IT model and workspace architecture,” says Daniel Minschart, CEO of Getronics BeLux. “The criticality of their activities requires a very rigorous IT support with regard to infrastructure as well as application software and services. The references and good practices of NRB and Getronics in related industrial sectors certainly help to set a higher level of ambition and enhance the experience of users, while enabling the latter to concentrate more on their core business.”
“We will continue to tackle Sibelga’s IT challenges with enthusiasm,” concludes Pascal Laffineur, CEO of NRB.“The fact that the services of NRB and Getronics complement each other allows us not only to deploy the new operating system Thin Client W10 but, more importantly, also to assist the company in its strategic development process.”
