About SPW

In 2008, MRW (Ministry of the Walloon Region) and MET (Ministry of Equipment and Transport) merged into a single entity called Public Service of Wallonia. With that came a new operating logic focusing at facilitating the exchange of information and harmonising public action.

Its objective is to optimize the quality and effectiveness of the services offered to citizens in order to better respond to the new needs of society.

Son objectif est de renforcer la qualité et l’efficacité des services offerts aux citoyens pour mieux répondre aux nouvelles exigences de la société. 

SPW comprises a general secretariat, a cross-functional general directorate and seven operational directorates. The general secretariat has transversal competences and performs the role of interface between the Government and all the administrative services, as well as the following services: personnel management, recruitment, training, human resources management and legal affairs.

SPW counts 11 premises located across Wallonia.
