After having led the NRB Group for four years Ulrich Penzkofer considers his mission to turn the company into one of the leading ICT players in Belgium as accomplished. Thus, he decides to leave the company.
Ulrich Penzkofer joined NRB on the 1st of February 2012, to assume the role of chairman of the committee of directors on the 1st of March 2012. During the last four years he changed the company fundamentally; as well in terms of internal organisation and management & quality systems, as well as in terms of market positioning and service portfolio. The strategy of external growth that had already been launched by his predecessor Guy Uerlings was continued with four acquisitions, of which the acquisition of the Trasys Group in October 2015 was the most important. The integration program of Trasys and NRB is ongoing.
Today the NRB Group is ranked amongst the top three of Belgian ICT service providers, realizing a turnover of more than 300 million euro and employing more than 2,000 collaborators. As is indicated in the annual report (FR - NL) that has just been published, the results of the NRB Group and its affiliates are very positive.
Ulrich Penzkofer illustrates his point as follows: “I am very happy with the work that I have done at NRB. The results speak for themselves. I believe that NRB has again a future perspective. My mission as a turnaround manager is finalized. Moreover it was never my intention to lead this company on the long term. All elements are present now at NRB to further increase its strength and competitiveness. It has all assets now to succeed in the highly competitive environment of IT. I want to thank all the collaborators of NRB for the hard work and the constructive atmosphere. I also want to thank all the customers for giving me their trust and for their support to the NRB project. And finally, I thank the shareholders and Mr Thiry in particular as they gave me this assignment.“
“Ulrich Penzkofer did an extraordinary job in circumstances that were not always easy”, confirms Mr Bernard Thiry, CEO of Ethias, the major shareholder, and Chairman of the Board of NRB. “He succeeded in implementing structural changes in the service model of NRB in order to make it ready for the new digital reality. We believe that thanks to him, NRB is ready to accompany its customers –Ethias amongst others – throughout their digital transformation. I wish Ulrich a lot of success in pursuing his professional career.“
Ulrich Penzkofer will leave NRB on the 31st of August.
