Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Since the advent of generative artificial intelligence (gen AI), artificial intelligence (AI) has been the focus of much attention. The possibilities it offers seem infinite, though they are not yet precisely measurable. However, they are already enabling public and private companies to become more efficient and improve the experience they offer their clients.

Because it complements human know-how, AI offers faster, more efficient and more personalised  service, while enabling employees to speed up the completion of tedious tasks in favour of high added-value jobs. This combination has a direct impact on the performance of companies, which see both an increase in productivity and the opening up of potential avenues for growth.

By precisely targeting its needs and objectives, an organisation can boost its performance while standing out in a competitive market. Artificial intelligence is therefore an essential and fundamental development in the day-to-day life of a business.

What is artificial intelligence?

The term “artificial intelligence” first appeared in 1956, at a conference organised in Dartmouth (USA). Since then, many researchers have tried to develop AI theory, which aims to simulate the functioning of human neurons.

With the Internet era, the massive digitisation of data and the emergence of new infrastructures, machine learning algorithms have given a new impetus to the possibilities of artificial intelligence. Since the end of 2023 and the arrival of generative AI, AI has become a massive part of our daily lives.

Companies have been quick to understand the benefits such technology can offer them:

  • analysing and processing insurance cases to assist employees;
  • helping HR to analyse job applications and identify the best profiles;
  • searching and summarising archives to avoid repeating work that has already been done;
  • automating processes and offering staff more fulfilling jobs.

NRB, a partner of choice for your artificial intelligence projects

NRB, a partner of choice for your artificial intelligence projects

Artificial intelligence relies on numerous technologies for its existence. NRB, a stable, reliable and experienced player in the IT world, provides end-to-end solutions for all its clients. From ideation to industrialisation, our experts put unique know-how at your disposal to meet your needs, whatever your field (public, private, hospital, SME, etc.).

A team close to you and ready to listen

Around fifteen AI specialists will work daily to analyse your needs, establish a strategy and develop tools tailored to your requirements. Have you encountered a problem? Do you have a question? You have a close and direct contact who can answer all your queries.

Recognised expertise in cybersecurity

The use of qualitative data is essential for developing technology based on artificial intelligence. NRB ensures the protection of this data thanks to its expertise in cybersecurity, which is recognised throughout Belgium and won an award at the Data News Awards ceremony. Choose the best option to achieve your objectives: outsource your entire infrastructure or opt for an à la carte service.

Two geo-resilient Data Centre campuses

Our two Data Centre campuses are geo-resilient, linked by dark fibre and only thirty kilometres apart (Herstal and Villers-le-Bouillet). Fully redundant, this infrastructure meets the most stringent requirements in terms of DRP (Disaster Recovery Plans).

Governance, risk and compliance support

Our Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) teams help you to put in place security policies and frameworks to ensure conformity and strengthen your security. This service enables you to ensure that your activities comply with NIS2 and GDPR regulations and the AI Act, for example.

The power of an international group at your side

The NRB Group is fully committed to artificial intelligence. There is NRB International Organisations for the European Commission, Civadis for the public sector, Zorgi for hospitals and Computerland for SMEs and they are all developing AI-based solutions. This exchange of knowledge enables us to continually improve the effectiveness of our products and to strengthen our professional expertise.

Environment-friendly computing

Artificial intelligence requires a lot of electricity, but NRB is particularly attentive to the environment around it. Our company, which is ISO 14001 certified, has installed a wind turbine and 940 photovoltaic panels at its historic site in Herstal to supply its Data Centres with electricity. With cold corridors, industrial waste recycling and heat recovery systems, NRB is increasing its initiatives to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.

Develop your artificial intelligence project in 5 steps

NRB will be at your side to develop all your solutions based on either classic or generative artificial intelligence. In just a few months you will be able to enjoy all the benefits of an ambitious project.

Step 1: Analyse the use cases

What are your ambitions? What problem do you want to solve? You need to define your real needs and delimit the area of action of artificial intelligence to take full advantage of its capabilities.

Step 2 : Identify and collect the data

AI works on the basis of qualitative data. To launch an effective solution tailored to your needs, it is important to collect all the data that can feed the artificial intelligence and maximise its usefulness.

Step 3: Ensure the user experience

AI is not limited to being a simple conversational agent like ChatGPT. The experience provided must meet the specific needs and requirements of its users.

Step 4: Confirm the value delivered

Before launching your solution, it is essential to check the proof of value (POV). Does AI improve the efficiency and performance of your users/clients? For this you need to iterate quickly; the agile approach lends itself perfectly to this kind of case. Are the conclusions positive? Then your AI is ready to be industrialised within your company.

Step 5: Industrialise

NRB has the capacity to industrialise your solution quickly and efficiently. In no time at all, you will be enjoying the benefits of a tool based on artificial intelligence that meets all your company’s requirements. Then you will be ready to boost your company’s growth.
