Last 3rd December, the e-Gov Awards 2015 were awarded in recognition of the most innovative digital projects in the Belgian public sector.
During this ceremony, organized by Agoria (the Belgian technology industry federation), the project BCDE (Banque Carrefour d’Echange de Données) Web Interface – eWallonia Brussels Simplifications (eWBS) was given an award in the “Profitability” category.
This objective of this project is to reduce users’ administrative charges, by avoiding repeatedly submitting hard copy documents to the administrative bodies. This initiative is in line with the “Only Once” policy of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, of course while fully respecting privacy regulations. This results in a significant return on investment: for the first 9 administrations included in the project, the annual cost saving comes up to 1,300,000 Euros, or 4 times the launching cost! And this amount is expected to increase tenfold in the next 2 years, as several other administrations adopt the solution.
We are proud to be able to affirm that NRB played an active role in the development of this project. Indeed, our company is responsible for the integration of authentic data sources via Soniq's ESB (Enterprise Service Bus) platform, all using an SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) approach.
