On Monday 2 May, Pascal Laffineur, CEO of the NRB Group, accompanied the Belgian royal couple on a three-day state visit to Greece. The sustainable digital transition, one of the themes at the heart of this state visit, is, along with cybersecurity, the core business of NRB and its Greek branch, Trasys Greece.
During this state visit, Pascal Laffineur participated in the panel of the cybersecurity conference organized by AWEX (Walloon Export and Investment Agency). He was able to highlight the importance of cybersecurity for democracy and for electoral processes in particular, at a time when cybercriminals are actively disseminating false information on social networks influencing voters' choices.
The security of citizens' data is at the heart of NRB's strategy and is a constant concern for the NRB group's teams, both in Belgium and Greece. The NRB Group has been entrusted with the post-processing of Belgian citizens' votes, to provide the authorities with accurate and uncorrupted results. NRB is therefore recognized as an important player in the field of security and data processing, thanks to the know-how of our experts in both Belgium and Greece.
Pascal Laffineur concluded his speech by comparing the holding of democratic elections to the Olympic Games: many years of preparation are needed to meet the challenges of a single day.
On the sidelines of this conference and still, in partnership with AWEX, NRB organized a "digital escape game" around cybersecurity, in the prestigious setting of the Goulandris Foundation Museum. NRB's experts accompanied 40 IT students from 3 Athens universities* in various technical challenges. This event was an opportunity to make the NRB group's activities better known to young Greeks. It contributes to strengthening the company's employer brand in the Greek market, which is also facing a shortage of IT talent. The Greek branch of the group is indeed constantly recruiting many IT profiles.
