Belgian IT service provider COMPUTERLAND, that is part of the NRB Group since last year, has appointed Filip Michiels as Chief Operating Officer (COO).
Filip Michiels (50) started working at COMPUTERLAND at the beginning of this month. He comes over from TUI, where he was CIO (Chief Information Officer) for seven years. He previously worked at Gateway, Lanxess, HDP-Arista and Estée Lauder. Filip Michiels was named CIO of the Year in 2019 by Data News. He holds a master's degree in computer science from the University of Ghent, then studied business economics at the University of Antwerp and IT management at the Vlerick Business School.
For Filip Michiels, this new position as an IT service provider at COMPUTERLAND is an opportunity to use the more than twenty-five years of experience he has acquired with end customers. In addition, his entrepreneurial spirit and his experience in large national and international companies can be put to the service of COMPUTERLAND's growth within the NRB Group.
A larger range for a wider market
COMPUTERLAND’s offices are located in Alleur (Liège), as well as in Gosselies (Charleroi) and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. The company realises a turnover of 31 million euro and employs 250 people.
In May 2020, COMPUTERLAND became part of the NRB Group, one of the leaders in the ICT sector in Belgium with more than 3,200 employees and an expected turnover of 500 million euros in 2021. COMPUTERLAND joined the NRB Group to help implement the group's strategic growth plan. That plan provides, among other things, to complete its range of services, and the expansion of its activities to a broader market. In that respect, COMPUTERLAND enriches the group with its solutions and competences regarding the complete Microsoft range and with its position in the market of medium-sized companies in Belgium and Luxemburg.
