Ever since its creation, NRB has continuously invested in its infrastructure: the data centers, buildings and equipment. All 12 buildings in Herstal were constructed in different phases and are regularly updated with new equipment, such as the solar panels that now supply a substantial part of the energy we need
Our data centers are housed in three separate buildings on our premises in Herstal and are connected with dark fibre to a backup site more than 30 km away to ensure full redundancy. Our centres are equipped with sophisticated systems for security and access control. These include continuous CCTV and redundancy in their networks, electricity supply and cooling. Our infrastructure not only meets the requirements for Tier III data centres, but also fulfils certain criteria for Tier IV, the highest standard* internationally.
We opened our brand new Service Control Center in 2014: a unique set up that allows optimal monitoring of all the systems in our environment.
In 2018, NRB is investing several million euros in the construction of a brand-new data centre in Villers-Le-Bouillet.vThis investment is part of the further development of NRB’s own distinct cloud strategy. The construction of the new data centre is NRB’s next step towards the data centre of the future: one with intelligent software at the helm.
In 2019, NRB receives the Data News Awards as "Data Centre and Hosting Company" of the year.
